06/27-08/08 | Bowdoin International Music Festival concert series honors 200th anniversaries for Haydn and Mendelssohn, and present major works from many other notable composers. Gamper Festival of Contemporary Music celebrates Pulitzer Prize winning composer George Crumb’s production of a new work, in celebration of his 80th birthday. Musicians from groups such as the New York Philharmonic and Cleveland Orchestra, the Ying and Shanghai quartets, and major conservatories collaborate with students to present more than 80 concerts. www.bowdoinfestival.org
