- 10/19-10/21, 365 Days/365 Plays by Suzan-Lori Parks, Fri, Sat 8pm, Sun 2pm, Pickard Theater, Bowdoin College, In November 2004, the Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Suzan-Lori Parks began a year-long project of writing a play a day. This year, the cycle receives the largest premier in theatrical history: eleven regions throughout the country are producing the work in its entirety, week by week. Bowdoin College participates, along with 52 other colleges and universities, by presenting Week 49. To reflect the project's generosity and ambition, the entire department of theater and dance - including all faculty, staff and students - collaborates on the production!

Since its founding in 1996, BMOP has commissioned new works and re-discovered "classics" of the 20th century, infusing them with the emotion, humor, and urgency that have been hallmarks of the modern era and its music. The orchestra will premiere works by Bowdoin alumni and faculty composers Vineet Shende and Elliott Schwartz. Free.

The Sharq Trio's musical repertoire consists of suites and songs from the Andalusian period up until modern Egyptian classical music of the mid 1900's. Although it is classical music, the energy level is high due to aggressive percussion and imaginative instrumental improvisation. Free.
